Living in Shimla, we just cannot take water for granted at all...
every summer the water rationing starts and though living in a government colony we still get ample water to make it through the day relatively comfortably, even we sigh and yearn when we see our relatives in the plains just switching on their water pumps and bathing and washing for hours on end!!!
The people of our small town have to queue up for ages to get water in the summers and that sight simply sickens me because I’ve seen the water crisis balloon over the past 15 years and I know for a fact that the worst is still to come!!!

Water is something we take for granted. It is still not a commodity like food or fuel. So water crisis doesn’t become headlines.
But it is the most basic and crucial of all. Hope we all wake up to the bitter truth of receding groundwater levels and the impending crisis. We need to save this earth for ourselves...
